A video node plays a clip in step with the timeline. It draws like an image and its sound plays like an audio node’s. The web players play it, and video, GIF, WebP and PNG exports include it.

Ready a clip

It prints the video asset to add to the document’s assets. Clips that every browser can show exactly are used as they are. A clip with a variable frame rate, HDR, or HEVC or ProRes, which is most phone and screen-recording footage, is encoded to an H.264 MP4 beside it. If it can’t tell a clip’s frame rate, it asks you to pass --fps.

Add a clip

Cut between shots by giving clips adjacent inTick and outTick. Mask footage with a matte, and put titles, glass and shaders over it as later nodes. The iOS player doesn’t draw footage yet.
